  • avid (adj.) extremely eager or interested

- He is an avid reader of anything – and everything – about sharks.

  • paramount (adj.) being above all others in importance, power, or rank.

- The flight crew's paramount concern is passenger safety.

  • rude (adj.) not polite; offensive or embarrassing

- It's very rude not to say "Thank you" when you are given something.

  • praise (v.) to say that you admire and approve of someone or something, especially publicly

- Jane was praised by her teacher.

  • minority (n.) a smaller number or part

- It's only a tiny minority of people who are causing the problem.
